Unrivalled reputation spanning almost 30 years
At Fonthill Lodge Childcare, we are committed to delivering exceptional childcare and education services across our locations in Lucan, Clonee, and Hollystown.
We cater to children from approximately 12 months old up to 5th class in primary school, offering drop-off and collection services to a wide range of primary schools in Lucan, Palmerstown, Clonee, Dunboyne, Little Pace, Ongar, and Kilbride.
Our dedicated team of highly qualified and skilled professionals are the cornerstone of our service. We provide comprehensive support to ensure a respectful, kind, and knowledgeable team that values every child as a unique individual.
We aim to meet the needs of modern families by offering affordable and flexible care options, including part-time, sessional, and full-time care. All of our services accept funding through the NCS and ECCE schemes.
Our in-house cooks prepare healthy, tasty, and nutritious meals daily. Children enjoy a variety of home-cooked options, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
Each of our purpose-built facilities features thoughtfully designed environments, spacious classrooms, high-quality equipment, and abundant resources. Every location also offers large, private outdoor play areas for all age groups, promoting physical activity and exploration.
At Fonthill Lodge Childcare, our priority is to create a safe, nurturing, and loving environment where children can thrive. We deeply value our employees, who, in turn, ensure the children in their care feel secure, happy, and inspired to learn through play and a wide range of enriching experiences.
National Childcare Scheme
The National Childcare Scheme (legally known as the Affordable Childcare Scheme) is a national scheme of financial support for parents towards the cost of their childcare. The Scheme includes two types of subsidies towards the cost of quality childcare:
1) A universal subsidy is payable for children between the ages of 24 weeks and 36 months who are using childcare services with an approved childcare service provider. It is also payable for a child who is older than 36 months but does not yet qualify for the Early Childhood Care and Education programme. The universal subsidy is not means-tested and is available to all qualifying families of any income level.
2) An income-related subsidy is payable for children from 24 weeks to 15 years of age who are using childcare services with an approved childcare service provider. The level of subsidy is determined by the family’s reckonable income.
2 Free ECCE years
The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Scheme provides free early childhood care and education for children of pre-school age. Children can start ECCE when they are 2 years and 8 months of age and continue until they transfer to primary school (provided that they are not older than 5 years and 6 months at the end of the pre-school year) .
The State pays for children to attend our Preschool for 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday for 38 weeks (September -June). Children who already attend fulltime / part time childcare may also avail of this service and their fee will be reduced by €262 per month.
